Bonfiglioli USA Places Fourth at Hopebox Derby for the Homeless

(Hebron, KY; September 18, 2013) - Bonfiglioli USA, a subsidiary of Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., participated on Saturday, Sept. 14 in the Sixth Annual Hopebox Derby. This was the rookie year for Bonfiglioli USA, which placed fourth overall out of 27 teams. Bonfiglioli USA was a 2013 sponsor of the race, in which all proceeds benefit HealthPoint's Pike Street Clinic for the Homeless.

Driver Amy "Ace" Johnson, Accounting Clerk/Receptionist for Bonfiglioli USA, held steady race after race to bring Bonfiglioli to a fourth place finish overall. The sleek Soapbox car design featured images of the Company's four main business units - Industrial, Mobile Machinery, Wind and Photovoltaic Solutions, emblazoned with the Bonfiglioli logo.

Dozens of Bonfiglioli employees and their families and friends created quite a cheering section, which everyone from spectators to the announcers commented on.

"What is really great about this event is that there were plenty of opportunities for our employees to get involved, from building the race car to cheering the Company to a fourth place finish," said Greg Schulte, President of Bonfiglioli USA.
"We participated to have a fun company event while helping raise funds to help the homeless. We are certainly happy with fourth place, but overall, I am most happy and overwhelmed by the enthusiasm from our employees, their families and friends who came out to cheer us on. It was a great event and we look forward to participating again next year."

Bonfiglioli USA Employees Hold "Jeans for Genes" Week to Raise Awareness for Down Syndrome

Event raises funds to support local employee's son in September Buddy Walk
(Hebron, KY; March 23, 2012) – Bonfiglioli USA, the US headquarters of Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., designated the week of March 19 as “Jeans for Genes” week to raise funds for the upcoming Buddy Walk, which is held each year by the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC).

Scott Miller, a Hebron employee of Bonfiglioli, has a 2-year old son with Down Syndrome.
Elijah “Eli” Miller will have “Elijah’s Elite” team at the DSAGC Buddy Walk on September 8, and the funds raised at Bonfiglioli will support Eli and his team, and ultimately, the DSAGC. With a contribution, Bonfiglioli employees were entitled to wear jeans to work for the entire week.

The week of March 19 was chosen as the kick-off for Eli and his family’s fundraising efforts for DSAGC because of March 21 – the day known as World Down Syndrome Day. March 21 (3/21) is significant because Down Syndrome is a result of a 3rd chromosome in the 21st gene.
Throughout the week, Mr. Miller has been sharing information about Down Syndrome with other employees, and sharing stories and pictures about his son, Eli, so that they can see the progress Eli has made.

Eli was diagnosed at 13 weeks of pregnancy, which allowed time for his parents to research conditions and prepare themselves for the type of care Eli would need.
The Down Syndrome Association helped us tremendously when we needed help. Now we are trying to give back through fundraising and raising awareness,” said Mr. Miller. “We’ve also become family mentors as well, to make sure other families with a Down Syndrome child have the same opportunities and support we did.

Greg Schulte, President of Bonfiglioli USA, said, “As a company, here and abroad, Bonfiglioli is committed to causes that help families and children with special needs, especially those in the Bonfiglioli family. It’s a pleasure to help Scott and his family each year by helping with fundraising and participating in the Buddy Walk. I thank each and every one of our employees for participating.

When asked what it is like to have a child with Down Syndrome, Mr. Miller said: “You learn patience. Every little step they make is a joyous occasion. When he smiles and claps, it’s a win for us, too.
