Bonfiglioli products are used in the latest state-of-the-art wind turbines to control significant functions such as yaw and pitch drives.
700T series planetary speed reducers are used by a number of leading wind turbine manufacturers due to advanced technical features that create the highest level of performance.
There can be from three to five reduction stages (all with a planetary design) depending on the total required reduction ration. Each stage may have three or four planets to increase the deliverable torque.
The gears are made of alloyed steel and are heat treated. The planets are supported by roller bearings or full roller track bearings to obtain high efficiency during the phases of starting and running.
The output housing is made by nodular cast iron - specifically designed to withstand the heavy loads generated by the turbine. | |
